The Basilica of Notre Dame de la Daurade, also called Sainte-Marie de la Daurade, is considered a minor basilica of Toulouse. It is found along the quays of the Garonne, close to the square and port of the same name. It is next to the école des Beaux-Arts. A church without a belltower, it has a classic appearance that can be best appreciated from the other side of the river.
Notre Dame de la Daurade has been classified as a historic monument since February 1st, 1963. A statue of the Black Madonna is throned in the transept, robed by great French dressmakers.
Students gather here every Sunday evening for Sunday evening Mass.
