“This is my Son, whom I love ; with him I am well pleased”
In order to become Christian, the catechumenal students follow a path that is measured in stages. Aided by their spiritual guides, they go through a process that will prepare them to receive the three sacraments of Christian initiation : Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
Several moments are celebrated along the path of the catechumen :
Entrance into the Church (or entrance into the catechumenate)
The decisive call (takes place the first Sunday of Lent)
Receiving the sacraments during the Easter Vigil (Baptism and Eucharist, Confirmation)
The catechumens commit themselves to a year and half of preparation for this event. They have desired with ardent hearts to become Catholic, disciples of Christ, witnesses in faith to the immense joy of knowing God, of listening to Him and of speaking to Him. They have chosen to respond favorably to this path they have been offered, in the company of other students. The students often say how, in the end, this time of preparation seemed to pass quickly, and welcomed them into a family of believers.
